The family has run the hotel since they bought the old coaching inn during 1965. At that time it was rather dilapidated and contained 21 rooms with a bath down the hall. There were two interested buyers at the time. The second buyer, a gas station chain owner, had plans to use Gilde house as a carwash. We couldn't be more pleased that it was the Laeskogen family offer that was accepted! The family has built some new, refurbished some old, and they work continuously so that the hotel emerges as timely, updated, and modern.
